I found out that I had stage 3 cancer. The first thing I thought of is what would my family do? I sent a text through a link on the website that night after seeing the commercial and liking the tone of the advertisement.
Jesse contacted me by text the next morning and we set up appointments after communicating needed questions by email.
I knew what I wanted and was never pressured or swayed. It was comforting and professional. After my brief visit (as Jesse knew I was coming in straight from radiation)-all was ready. We went through page by page, I was prepared to pay in full (so reasonable). When I walked out, I felt lifted and relaxed.
During surgery, there was a bit of time it seemed very iffy. What a relief to my family who is scattered around the East Coast- just call Wilmington Funeral and it’s handled. No jumping on planes. No panic. Handled.
When I learned of that few moments way after ICU- I never wept- I was so relieved my family could do their own celebration but the difficult unknown was done. For those in my life who thought I was having a crisis in this move - they now know it was a blessing and a noble idea. I sent correspondence to Jesse asking him to continue his path. The confidence and comfort gained is such a gift to those left to gather their own lives much less settle mine. I am still here and now cancer free with much thanks to the medical community and Our Father above. But it is necessary to emphasize the huge part that Wilmington Funeral played in my complete recovery.read less

Mr. Matt Payne took such good care of our grandmawmaw (Lord rest her soul.) Despite her advanced health issues which caused her body to wither away (bless her poor little heart), Me-maw looked to be peacefully asleep lying in that coffin. She looked just like the Me-maw we all knew: passed out on a sofa after a few too many Johnny Walkers. Only more dignified.
Mr. Payne was compassionate and understanding of Me-maw's wishes and the needs of the family, and he proved to be skilled at making her look good. Because, frankly, Me-maw died the way she lived and... Well, let's just say Mr. Payne was a miracle worker when it came to the more aesthetic aspects of the funeral.
I never liked Me-maw very much no way; she was a mean old drunk. But that ain't Wilmington Funeral and Cremation's fault. Because our family is a religious bunch, we had a viewing before the cremation and now she's finally peacefully resting in her beautiful little urn. Hardest part was trying to find who would take the remains, though. Me-maw ain't exactly win over too many friends, especially within the family. But WFC was helpful with that, too. She's buried in the most inexpensive grave plot they could help us find, and now both she (and our family) is at peace. And quiet.
