Debra “Debby” Ann Rouse Fowler, 58, beloved wife of Thomas W. Fowler, of Wilmington, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Gloucester, MA, July 14, 1960, a daughter of Donald Henry and Perry Ann Manning Rouse of Wilmington. She was a graduate of Miller-Motte College and had worked at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center as a nursing and medical assistant. She opened up her heart and home to many foster children over the years.

Besides her husband Tom and parents, Donald and Perry, she is survived by her daughters, Anna Johnson and her husband Peter of Hope Mills, Heather Sullivan of Greenville, and Jessica Helms of Wilmington; her brother, Danny Rouse and his wife Jan of Willow Spring; 6 grandchildren, a soon to be born great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews, and her special family members, Jerry Taylor, Cathy Morris, and Alice Wrench.

Her family will receive relatives and friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Park with Rev. John Chase of the Ocean Isle Beach Assembly of God officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts in Debby’s memory be made to the Wilmington Special Olympics at www.tmcfunding.com

    I want so much to attend the service for Cousin Debbie, she seemed such a sweet and gentle soul. However, I had a surgery this past Tuesday, and can not travel. May the Almighty comfort you and heal your pain, Perry Anne, and comfort her father with His grace and Bless all of you who knew and loved Debbiel She is home, Praise God and give thanks to Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer!

    Jessica and family, you are all special people. I knew Jessica better than Debbie but two arrays such a wonderful sweet girl speaks volumes. I know that Jessica's dad never stop doing everything he could for his family and he amazes me. Please let me know if there's anything I can do or maybe resources that can help your family.
