Memorial Gifts & Donations

Timothy Edward Rankin, was called home by his heavenly Father on November 6, 2021, after a tragic fall.

He attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School and Varina High School where he was captain of the baseball and football teams and was a class officer. He also attended Florida State University. This year, Tim was honored by his selection to the Varina Sports Hall of Fame. He took pride in his profession and worked as a project manager and estimator for various electrical firms in the
Richmond area and along the east coast. Of particular pride was his own estimating business. A lifelong, avid golfer, he was proud of two holes-in-one, a double eagle and many tournament championships. He was deeply interested in people and will be missed by all who knew him for his crazy and zany sense of humor. Anyone who spent time with him recognized him as “one of a kind”.

Tim is survived by his wife, Scottie, of 41 years, and his son, Shane (Lauren), of Pittsburgh, PA. In addition, he leaves behind his beloved pets, Alfie and Kittyboo.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be announced.

Tim was a fun loving person. He always had something to say that would put a smile on your face. He loved to play golf and tell stories about his days in high school. I’ll miss his witty remarks and him calling me Pots ( short for pot belly) . He was truly one of a kind. He will be missed by us all . May he Rest In Peace and God bless him .

I feel as if I have known Tim all of my life. I met him when he played baseball on my Daddy's summer baseball team up at Montrose Elementary School. Then at Varina, we reconnected. He was such a good person and the world has lost a good man.
