Agnes Curley McSweeney

Agnes Margaret (Curley) McSweeney, resident of Wilmington, NC (Autumn Care), and formerly of
Closter, NJ, and Watertown, MA, passed away on June 26, 2019, at the age of 98.

Agnes was born on August 1, 1920 in Watertown, MA.

In her younger days, she enjoyed ice-skating, playing piano and ballroom dancing. She attended Burdett Business College in Boston, MA, and worked as a secretary and administrative assistant in the Boston area and northern New Jersey. Her favorite employment was at Volvo Corporation, where she worked as an administrative assistant to the President until her retirement. She was a resident of Closter for over 60 years and loved her friends and neighbors there.

Agnes was a founding member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church.

Agnes is survived by two daughters, Carol McSweeney of Scottsdale, AZ and Kalispell, MT, and Janice McSweeney of Wilmington, NC and their spouses, William F. Haring, Jr, and James E. (Ed) Fore, as well as three grandchildren, Brittany Niemeyer of Scottsdale, AZ, Erin Curtis Fazio of Houston, TX, and Ryan Curtis of Los Angeles, CA. In addition, Agnes is survived by two great-grandchildren, Carson and Eva Niemeyer of Scottsdale, AZ.

A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
