Aida Iris Caro of Leland passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at home in the presence of her husband Louis, daughter Vanessa, son Steven and her 2 sisters from NY Edna Diaz and Nancy Garcia.

Aida was born in Puerto Rico on August 17, 1946, the daughter of Marcelo Medina and Maria Rodriguez Medina.

Prior to moving to North Carolina, Aida lived in Nutley, NJ for 40 years and also lived in Barnegat, NJ. for 10 years.

She retired in 2004 as Administrative Assistant at the Clara Maass Hospital in Belleville, New Jersey. She worked raising funds for the hospital.

The family will receive visitors at a visitation to be held 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm on Monday, March 1, 2021, at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation-Leland Chapel, 525 Village Road Leland.

    Aida was so much a part of our family and a blessing to all of us. A welcoming loving person that I never heard say a negative word about anyone. She was gracious , kind and someone that made you feel loved. We will miss her. I’m first cousin to her husband Louie. His mother and my mother were sisters. My mom embraced Aida as another daughter and they worked together at Clara Mass Hospital in New Jersey. My mom and my dad loved her so very much because they saw the genuine person that she was. To Vanessa , Stephen, and my Marine brother Louie as well as Aida ‘s sisters , be proud of this wonderful women that graced all of our lives. Always Faithful Peter Gasiewicz

    My husband Danny and I met and became friends with Lou and Aida in 2019 when moved in next door to them in Leland. Aida was one of the most kind, friendly, gracious and caring people I have ever met. She always had a smile on her face and seemed to remain positive and hopeful all throughout her illness. My husband and I feel heartbroken at Aida’s passing. God took another “good one”, he often takes the best— Lou, Steve, and Vanessa surely have a guardian angel in Heaven. Aida will be missed very much. Love and prayers to all her family and friends.
