Alan Leonard Davis, age 71, of Wilmington, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2020, at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 21, 1949, the son of Winslow Charles Davis and Sarah Marie Savage Davis.

Alan is survived by his brother Clifford Davis (Parrish) of North Carolina, and sisters Arlene Davis of Delaware, Joyce Hall (William) of Virginia, Sally LeMay of Virginia, Nancy Saba (Lloyd) of Delaware, Linda Ewers of Florida and Carla Doorman (Rob) of New Jersey. Together with his parents he was predeceased by his brothers John Davis and Carl Davis.

    My favorite memory of Alan is when we were kids and I would go to his bed where he had rigged up a separate reading light for me. We were both avid readers and could sit up for hours reading. We had to make sure lights were off before Dad pulled into drive after working second shift or there was serious trouble to be had. Our parents were not fans of the time we could spend in books. Alan I hope you are some place with something to read

    Ii remember when Allan was born. I often visited your Grandmom and grandfather when Johnny and he were babies. Of course we were young too- You girls were not born yet and a little later at the farm in NJ. I have a photo of me there with a crazy hat after I had fallen into a Creek. I am so sorry for Your loss. Our loved ones remain with us and are part of us. My sister Lynne is still with me and she left us about 70 years ago. Peace, blessings to you all as you journey on.

    I remember when we were youngins. My father, uncle Jack, would visit his sister, your mother, just about every weekend in Medford. I remember that your Mom and Dad always kept you and your sisters very busy doing chores. But we did get to fool around and have some playtime together., Me and my brother John and some of your sisters. I remember dinnertime at your Mom's and all the kids had their own table. I miss the good old days. Prayers being said for you and family.
