Albert Melvin Rice, Jr., 67, of Wilmington, NC, formerly Parkersburg, WV, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at his home following an extended illness.

He was born in Wood Co., WV on July 14, 1944, the son of Kathleen Fly Rice Smith and the late Albert Melvin Rice, Sr.
He was owner and manager of Rice Auto Supply in Parkersburg, WV and retired in 1995. He and wife, Marsha Rice and daughter, Amie moved to Wilmington, NC in 2005.

Surviving is his wife of forty-seven years as of June 4th, 2012, Marsha Rice of the home; three daughters, Amanda Rice Ferrell and husband, Jim, Amie Rice Holdegraver and husband, Bradley all of Wilmington, NC; Angela Rice Witmer and husband, Justin of Concord, NC; son, Gregory Rice and wife, Rebecca of Concord, NC; three grandchildren, Logan and Wyatt Rice, Addison Witmer all of Concord, NC; brother, Scott Rice and wife, Barbara of Clearwater, FL; two sisters, Rebecca McMurray and husband, Bill and Marcia Archer and husband, Tim all of Parkersburg, WV.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 pm.Officiating will be Rev. Floyd Morris.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of your choice.
