Alberta Benton McGee, age 84 of Leland passed away Monday, March 10, 2014.
She was born in Brunswick County on August 27, 1929. She was preceded in death by her parents William Penn Benton and Hattie Cora Mintz Benton, her husband of 52 years, Ernest M. McGee, son, Jimmy McGee, five siblings, George Franklin, Emory, Cecil, Gertrude, and Agnes.
Alberta was a faithful member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. She was a righteous and spiritual lady. She was a homemaker who loved cooking for family and friends and enjoyed birds, flowers, and gardening.
Alberta is survived by her daughters, Linda Schirippa (Dick) of Florence, SC and Connie Gainey (Don) of Leland; three grandsons, Jamey (Jamie), Jared (Tonya), and Travis; 3 great grand daughters, Kimber, Katie, and Keziah; brother, Edwin Benton of Wilmington, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Shiloh United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. William Pearsall, Rev. Adam Brinkley, and Rev. Jerry Clark. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
