Alene Smith Holden, 79, of Supply, NC, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012 at her home.

She was born in Brunswick Co., NC, on October 20, 1932, the daughter of the late Vander Jackson and Mary Benton Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Kenneth Roger Holden also two brothers, and four sisters.

Mrs. Holden retired in 1992 after twenty-two years as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She will be missed by many as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Surviving are four daughters, Karen Williams, Rhonda McKeithan, Missy Holden, and Dottie Holden; four sons, Greg Holden, Farron Holden, Ronnie McKeithan, and Warren Williams; six grandchildren, Jeff and Nick Williams, Amanda Richardson, Tara , Tonya, and Jessica Holden; three great-grandchildren, Shelby and Ryleigh Williams and Avery Richardson; step-grandson, Kevin McKeithan and four great step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 2919 Galloway Road, NE, Bolivia, NC with a funeral service beginning at 3:00 pm by Rev. Anthony Clemmons.

Interment will follow in the Sweet Heavenly Home Cemetery in Supply, NC.
