Mrs. Alice Adcox Finch, 81, of Wilmington, NC died Tuesday, January 9th at her residence. A Memorial service will be held Monday, February 12th at 1:00 pm at West Market Street United Methodist Church in Greensboro, NC.

 Born on July 7, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Lacy Barrett Adcox and the late Dorothy Fritz Adcox. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Andrews Finch. Alice was a graduate of Lenior-Rhyne University with a master’s in education from Appalachian State University. She worked as an Educator in the Guilford County School System for over 25 years. She was an active member of West Market Street United Methodist Church in Greensboro, NC for 48 years until 2018 when she moved to Wilmington, NC to be near her daughter and family.  She served on various committees including Mobile Meals, Sisters of the Spirit, and was highly active in her Sunday school class Asbury Covenant (formally Genesis).

She is survived by one son Paul Andrews Finch II and wife Amy McDaniel Finch of Pineville, LA; one daughter Leslie Finch Smith and husband Bryan Edward Smith of Wilmington, NC; 4 grandchildren Avery Elizabeth Smith, Ethan Paul Finch, Nora Lee Finch, Edith Andrews Smith; brother Lindsay Barrett Adcox of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother-in-law Tom Bennett and sister-in law Carolyn Finch Bennett from Philadelphia, PA; nephews Geoffrey Bennett and family from Charleston, SC and Christopher Bennett and family from Short Hills, New Jersey and her beloved dog Montana who now resides with her daughter and family.

 The family will receive friends at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Legacy Journey Foundation Fund of West Market Street United Methodist Church, Greensboro, NC.
