Alvin Huber passed away October 11, 2008 in Wilmington, NC.

Alvin Arthur Huber was born in Sharon Township, Le Sueur County, Minnesota on January 6, 1923 to Arthur and Esther (Bosacker) Huber. He attended school in Sharon Township. Alvin enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1942, fought and was wounded in the Pacific Theater of World War II on the island of Guam in July, 1944, and received the Purple Heart. Alvin married Marilyn Mae Flowers at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Le Center, Minnesota on June 5, 1945. Al and Marilyn lived on the family farm in Sharon Township from 1945 to 1971. Al then became a partner in Le Center Construction Company until his retirement in 1985. For some time they spent summers on Bowstring Lake, Deer River, Minnesota, and winters in Mission, Texas. In June of 2007, Al and Marilyn moved to Wilmington, North Carolina where Marilyn still resides at The Commons at Brightmore, 2320 – 41st Street, Wilmington, NC, 28403.

In addition to his wife, Marilyn, Al is survived by his 4 children – Richard (Patricia Comeaux) of Wilmington, NC; Barbara (Michael) Barton of San Mateo, CA; Steven Huber of South Dakota; Karen (Joe) Hague of San Francisco, CA; his 3 grandchildren – Mike Huber of Iowa City, IA; Dan Huber of Overland Park, KS; Matt Barton of San Mateo, CA; and 4 great grandchildren – Lily and Grace Huber of Iowa City, IA; Nicholas and Olivia Huber of Overland Park, KS; and 1 sister – Dorothy Lloyd of Cleveland, Minnesota. Al is also survived by his brother-in-laws – Kenneth (Loretta) Flowers of St. Peter, MN; Maynard (Lucille) Flowers of Tampa, FL; Donald Flowers of Washington; Orville Wenger of Fresno, CA and Elroy Lloyd of Roseville, CA; as well as 2 sisters-in-law – Vicki Flowers of Litchfield, MN and Harriett Flowers of DeKalb, IL. Al was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mildred Wenger; and his brothers-in-law Dale Lloyd; Bernard Flowers and Floyd Flowers.

The family requests memorial donations in lieu of flowers be sent to The Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 2222 S. 17th Street, Wilmington, NC, 28401.
