Amber Dale Conatser

March 14, 1980 - October 24, 2010
Amber Dale Conatser

A beautiful, loving, and Precious angel was called back to Heaven far too soon. Amber Dale Miller Conatser left this earth on Sunday, October 24, 2010 and returned to the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Amber was born March 14, 1980 in Wilmington, North Carolina to her proud and blessed parents, Dale and Jenese Miller. Amber is survived and will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Jason M. Conatser; her parents Dale and Jenese Miller; her sisters and best friends on the planet, Dawn Miller Rudd and Kellie Miller McDonald and husband Kevin, and their children Brady and Gavin; her beloved PaPa and Grandma, Lloyd “Woody” and Sally Ellis. Her Aunt Jessica Ellis Lobbestael and husband Keith, and their children Mckenna and Dylan, whom Amber enjoyed, adored, and loved with abandon; her in-laws Ken and Valerie Conatser, sister-in-Law Christine Conatser Vreeland, husband Mark, and their children Cameron, Chance, Bryce and Amber; and brother-in-law Michael Conatser and children Gavin and Kyleigh…all of Washington State. Also surviving is her Aunt, Bonnie Hina and husband David of Franklin, NC, and cousin Amanda Dunlap of Texas. Amber’s dear friends were too numerous to list here, but the family wishes to acknowledge the loving care and dedication shown by Shannon Hoffman and Jessica Corbett during this very difficult time.

Amber was a beautiful woman, but her inner beauty and gentle spirit far exceeded her lovely face. All who knew her loved her, for she loved people honestly and without reservation. From her closest friends from childhood and beyond, to her clients she served so faithfully at the Harbour Club, all understood that they were loved, cared for, and could always depend on their Amber. The most common word used to describe Amber after “beautiful” was “thoughtful”. Her beloved PaPa gave her the nickname “Precious” as a little one, and it was both prophetic and amazingly appropriate. Amber’s empathy for all, her joyful and vibrant love for life, and her infectious laugh will be remembered and greatly missed by all.
First and foremost in Amber’s life, after her love for her Lord, was her unwavering and absolute dedication to her family. Being a part of Amber’s family is like having your very own sunshine at your beck and call. Her loyalty and devotion knew no bounds, and every single day of her thirty years was dedicated to the family she loved so dearly. She could turn any gray day into a glorious sun-filled one. She could turn tears to laughter. And with one frown, she could frighten away any who would threaten those she loved so much. Her family is committed to honoring her extraordinary spirit and heart as they attempt to emulate her incredible example of Godly and unconditional love for others.

For the past four and a half years, Amber’s daily focus and joy were Brady and Gavin, the nephews she considered God’s great gift to our family. Never a day went by that she didn’t talk with them, hunt frogs or lizards with them, teach them how to count, make them cupcakes, snuggle with them on the sofa or in their beds, or just lie down and let them fall asleep in her loving arms. We have many pictures of these precious moments. Our prayer now is that the memory of the overwhelming and consuming love and devotion she had for these little boys will be kept alive for them so that they will always have the love of Aunt Amber, for it is a treasure not to be missed.

A celebration of our Amber’s life will be held on Monday, November 1st, 2010 at Port City Community Church at 3:00PM. Church location: 250 Vision Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403.

We do not say goodbye. We say “we will see you again soon our Precious”.
