Andrew “Andy” Scottie Parrish, 79 of Wilmington passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Andy was the son of the late Andrew Parrish and Mary Etta Ferrell Parrish; he also was preceded by his sister, Willie Lee Ivey and two brothers, Bobby Parrish and Jerry Parrish.
Andy worked for many years at Stone Heavy Vehicles delivering parts and Triple T as a parts sales man. He was recognized for employee of the year at Triple T; know as” Mr. Wiz” because he knew all the part numbers by heart. Andy was a member of Forward in Christ Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He is survived by wife, Carleen Parrish. Four sons: Robert D. Parrish and wife Frances of Davis, David Parrish of Havelock, Andy Pate of Marshallberg, Tony Parrish of Juniper, FL; step-son: Randy Jordan of Wilmington; daughter: Gail Leggett and husband Rob of Greenville, NC; step-daughters: Amy Brinson, Nancy Thompson of Wilmington; granddaughters: Marci Parrish, Robin Parrish, Erin Johnson of Davis, Crystal Pate of Marshallberg, Alicia Salinas of Greenville; grandsons: Brandon Parrish of Hickory, NC, Justin Morris of Colonial Heights, VA, Derek Pate, Jerome Pate and Matthew Pate of Marshallberg; and six great-grandkids. Sisters: Diane Turner and husband Wayne, Bonnie Hayes and husband Bill, Elaine Barnes and husband Jimmy of Wilson, NC, Peggy Barnes and husband Bobby, Brenda Bunn of Lucama, NC, Frances Wright and husband Dee of Conway, SC; brother: Randy Parrish of Goldsboro; brother-in-law: Norwood Ivey.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 1-2:00 PM at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A chapel service will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
