Daniel Gralak 17, of Leland passed away Sunday August 10, 2014 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a boating accident in Brunswick County Saturday afternoon.
Daniel was born in Wilmington October 3, 1996 the son of Danny and Missie Davis Gralak. Daniel lived his entire life in Leland and excelled in school as a 2014 Honor student and graduate of Brunswick County College Early High School student program. He was an active member of Northwest Volunteer Fire Department and was a funeral attendant with Wilmington Funeral & Cremation. Daniel along with his father had just recently started a new business Southern Boys Truck Repair in Leland and has already employed 6 mechanics. Daniel loved everything about the outdoors including hunting, fishing, and trapping. He was of strong faith and attended Bridge of life Church. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Cathy Wells, and his maternal great-grandfather Kent Bullard.
Surviving are his parents Danny and Missie; sister Nicole, girlfriend Lorin Blake, maternal grandparents David and Theresa Davis, paternal grandfather Dan Gralak, and step grandfather Kenneth Wells, maternal great-grandparents Mable and Mitchell Piver. A number of uncles, aunts and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday August 14, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Leland officiated by his pastor, Rev. Jerome Bullard and Rev. Roy Coleman. Burial will follow in King Memorial Cemetery in Leland.
The family will see friends 5 PM to 8 PM Wednesday at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.
