Ann Dignan Antos, age 77 of Wilmington, NC passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 19, 1935 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Nora Luke Dignan Kooker and John H.B. Dignan. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Antos and her step-father, William Kooker.
Ann volunteered in libraries in many states, was active with the VITA program, the Tileston Medical Clinic and active in her church. She loved her counted cross stitch and gardening, and two girls who know she lives on in their hearts know her to be the best grandmother in the entire world.
She is survived by two sons, A. Joseph Antos and wife Leslie, of Elmira, NY and Steven J. Antos and wife Susan, of Stockton, NJ; brother, Jack Dignan and wife Ellen, of Manahawkin, NJ; sister-in-law Joyce Traynham of Bordentown, NJ; granddaughters, Lexie and Dani, of Elmira, NY; many nieces and nephews.
The family will see friends on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 9:00AM at St. Mark Catholic Church, 1011 Eastwood Road, Wilmington, NC. This will be followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:00 conducted by Monsignor Stephen Worsley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to The American Cancer Society or St. Mark Catholic School Tuition Assistance Fund, 1013 Eastwood Rd., Wilmington, NC 28403.
