Ann Elizabeth Mangum McNeill, 88, of Leland died on September 20, 2022. She was born in Durham, NC on November 14, 1933 to John and Rosa Mangum.

In addition to her parents Ann was preceded in death by her brother William “Buddy” Mangum

Ann was a private person and lived a simple life. She loved cats and was gifted in crocheting. She was a giving and loving person.

She is survived by her son Franklin McNeill and wife Laura, daughters; Lynn Strickland, Susan Fulton, grandchildren; Matthew McNeill, Christina Sweetland, Johnathan McNeill, Jeremy Strickland, Jeffrey Maultsby, Tonya Woody, several great grandchildren, sister Jean McLean, brother John Allen Mangum and extended family.

A memorial service will be held 2pm on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation, 1535 S. 41s St. The family will receive guest 30 minutes prior.

Ann, her parents, and her siblings were so important to our family. My mother was her aunt but she and Ann were so close in age, they were more like sisters. We shared many, many years with Aunt Rosa’s family and all of them were loving, welcoming ones,, full of fond memories We will remember Ann’s giving nature and her many creative talents from baking to crochet and painting.
