Anna Celestine McIntyre passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 24, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 47 after a three and half year battle with breast cancer.

She was born in Montgomery, Alabama at Maxwell Air Force Base on November 26, 1959. Anna was employed by Merchant Technologies in Wilmington.

She is survived by her parents, Ms. Riva C. McIntyre of Wilmington, and Lt. Col. and Mrs. Robert T. McIntyre Jr. of Tuscaloosa, AL, and siblings Robert T III (Patricia) Wilmington, Matthew S. (Helen) Trussville, AL, Patrick A. (Amanda), Marcella R., and Johnette M. McIntyre; step-brothers Thomas A. (Lisa) all of Tuscaloosa, AL, John S. (Xamora) McLeod Montevallo, AL; niece Kate M. McIntyre Raleigh, N.C., nephews Robert T. IV, Raleigh, N.C., M. Scott and Nathan J. McIntyre Trussville, AL., Step-nieces Samantha Richburg, Trussville, AL. and Elizabeth Hart, Providence, RI, and Step-nephews Andrew Richburg, Birmingham, AL. and Adam Richburg, Troy, AL., Peter Hart, New York, NY and Charles Hart, Stamford, CT, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. An avid dog lover, Anna was preceded by her German shepherd, Vegas and leaves behind her beloved beagle, Beatrice.

Anna will be greatly missed as a daughter, a sister, an aunt and as a friend, by all who were fortunate to know her. She was well known for her humor, kind-heart, and generosity.

It was Anna’s wish for her family and friends to gather together to celebrate her life. The celebration will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2007 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Masonboro Yacht Club & Marina, 609 Trails End Rd., Wilmington, NC, 28409.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the many individuals and organizations that provided help and support to Anna especially, Lower Cape Fear Hospice, the New Hanover RMC Cancer Unit, Dr. William McNulty and his staff. In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations can be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
