Memorial Gifts & Donations

Lucille “Annette” Carter, 62, was born on March 20, 1958 and left this life all too soon to enter her eternal home on December 29, 2020.

Although her death was very sudden and unexpected, her final days were spent surrounded by her family as she celebrated the Christmas holiday with the ones she loved the most.

Annette touched many lives through the years with her contagious smile, sense of humor, and zest for life. All who knew her were aware of her love and enjoyment for going to the beach, going to concerts to see her favorite Christian artists (mostly Tobymac!), watching TV and going to the Movies. She especially enjoyed “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Homicide Hunter” and any movie with Idris Elba😊.

Annette was part of the Venture Church family in Wilmington, NC. She looked forward to attending the services and taking part in worship with other Christians. She also participated in Small Groups at Venture.

Annette is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Elisabeth Carter; her grandson, Landyn Carter; her brothers and sisters, Marvin Carter, Jr. and his wife Pam, Randy Carter, Tim Carter and his wife, Mary, Brenda Heflin and Angela Carter along with a niece and 3 nephews and many other relatives.

Annette was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Carter, Sr. and her mother, Merilyn Semans Carter.

There are no services planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Venture Church at jointheventure.com or Annette’s favorite non-profit organization, The Innocence Project at innocenceproject.org.

I will always remember Annette’s kindness and her smile. I can still hear her voice and her laugh. I will forever remember the last time we were with Annette. She asked me to make her a glass of tea and please don’t forget to put the sweetener in it.. I will miss seeing your smiling face when we come to visit. RIP, Annette ❤️ Love & Prayers to the family

I worked with Annette at RHA for a few years. She was the absolute sweetest. I loved our lunch time chats and walks. She convinced me to start watching One Tree Hill so we never ran out of good TV talks. She was an angel to her clients. I am so sorry to hear about her passing. My thoughts are with her entire family. Sending love and light.

I am so glad I got to know Annette while doing her hair. She was full of joy and as genuine as they come. Her sister Angela sent her to me as a referral. I could immediately tell these ladies knew the Lord and Jesus Christ! Their lights shine bright! Thank you Lord for putting them in my path. My deepest sympathies to her family that is left on this earth without her.

We will always remember Annette’s infectious laughter and her face as it glowed after a day in the sunshine on the beach. It’s very sad to see her go but happy to know she’s with the Lord. What a lovely picture posted on this memory status. Praying for the family.
