Anthony J. Fimiano, Jr. 62 of Carolina Beach passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.

He was born on August 7, 1952 in Manhattan, NYH to the late Jean Webster and Anthony J. Fimiano. Tony is survived by his beloved dog “Penny”, his sister, Angela Dwyer and nephew Christopher J. Robitaille.

Tony proudly served with the NYPD as a detective, retiring in 1997. He loved history, baseball, telling life stories, and serving his city. He lived his dream of retiring to the beach. Tony never met a stranger and made many dear friends that became his family.

A private memorial service will be held at a later time.

Donations can be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401 in Tony’s memory.

    Tony and I attended Pershing Junior High together in Brooklyn and we'd been in touch off and on over all these years. I will miss his humor and his keen observations about history and politics. He was extremely generous and fun to be around.
