Anthony Joseph Montemarano

Anthony Joseph Montemarano, 63, of Leland, died peacefully on 6-24-11. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 25, 1947, and he served his country in the US Army.

He was employed as a letter carrier by the US Postal Service for 36 years and he retired to Leland in 2002. He enjoyed his retirement, taking daily walks, swimming, gardening, fishing and taking gambling trips to Atlantic City with his good friend John, of NJ.

He is survived and will be sorely missed by his two sisters, Betty Marano of Leland and Ann Patruno (Nicolas) of Jackson, NJ, and their children, Gregg (NYC), Troy (Las Vegas) and Tracy (Boston) Patruno.

Friends are welcome to share memories at a memorial gathering at Village Road Funeral Home on Thursday, June 30th, 2011, from 5:00 ? 7:00 pm.

    Antoine was quiet, but he certainly packed a wallop. I've known him for most of my life, and he was just always there, mostly in the background, where he was most comfortable. I feel that's where he is still, until I remember he isn't. Now, instead of covering everyone's back, he's covering their heads. I'll surely miss him.
