Anthony “Tony” Gaetano Della Ventura, 84, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2022 following a brave and brief battle with cancer.

Tony was born February 22, 1938 in Providence, Rhode Island to Gaetano and Anna Della Ventura. Tony was introduced to the love of his life Rose Marie Grieco and they married on September 18, 1965.

Tony’s biggest passion was sports, especially Red Sox, NY Patriots and Tampa Bay. Tony knew no stranger and was a friend to everyone with his contagious grin and laughter. He was a shining example for his grandsons and daughter. Tony had a strong work ethic. He was a successful small business owner of Coastal Carpet and Janitorial in Rhode Island for over 15 years. Tony and Rose Marie retired to Wilmington North Carolina in 2006. He quickly became involved in the community and made many friends that are now considered family.

Tony is survived by his wife, Rose Marie; his daughter, Lisa; two grandsons Maxwell and Camden. He is also survived by his loving brother John Della Ventura of Rhode Island. His best Providence friends who were like family, Richard and Lois Manzi and family of Narragansett, Rhode Island. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Pauline and Joann.

No services are being held per Tony’s request. Please keep him and the family in your prayers. Donations in his memory may be made to Lower Cape Fear LiveCare Center, in Wilmington, NC.
