Anthony “Tony” Wayne Edens, Sr., 42, of Rocky Point, NC, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011

TONY- GOD FEARING, REDEEMED SINNER, SAVED BY GRACE, CHRIST FOLLOWER, WITNESS FOR CHRIST, SOUL WINNER, HUSBAND, DADDY, BROTHER, SON, COUSIN, BROTHER IN LAW, SON IN LAW, NEPHEW, UNCLE AND FRIEND TO MANY, LOYAL, TRUSTWORTHY, ENCOURAGER, FUNNY, HUMBLE, WOULD GIVE ANYONE ANYTHING HE HAD, YOUTH LEADER, DEACON, EXAMPLE, LOVING, CARING, HANDYMAN… HE IS NOW DANCING IN HEAVEN AT THE FEET OF JESUS HIS SAVIOR. T-BONE, WE WILL MISS YOU A LOT, YOU TOUCHED MANY AND WILL ALWAYS BE LOVED. NOW, GO COOK US SOMETHING GOOD SO WE CAN EAT WITH JESUS.

He was a faithful husband to his loving wife, Danielle. He was a loving father to his four children, TJ, Elizabeth, Timothy, and Caleb. He is also survived by his mother, Hazel Edens, father GW Edens and wife Wanda, 3 sisters; Kim, Sarah “Missy”, and Lisa and numerous nieces and nephews and a large circle of family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm Sunday, September 4, 2011 followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm at Wrightsboro Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Keith Hollar, Rev. Mike Lewis, and Rev. Duane Modlin. Interment will follow at Barlow Vista Baptist Church in Hampstead, NC.

In lieu of flowers a Trust Fund will be set up for his children at BB&T.

    Your family was truly blessed to have such a genuinely kind, devoted man. I did not know Tony that long, but it was very clear to everyone around him that he lived for his family, especially his wife and children. He was so enthusiastic and funny that it was impossible not to like him. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers in this trying time.

    To The Family. I am shocked and saddened by your loss. I did not know Tony that well, but will miss him scaling me in at Colonial. Of the many times I had gotten a chance o talk to him, I cannot say any negative thing about him. I will never forget the time when I was at the scales and the system was down and everybody went to the Colonial Breakroom to eat Bojangles. I was going to sitting in the truck for awhile. They invited me to come up and join them. In the breakroom, I got to sit directly across from Tony and watch him eat. He could eat ! We got to talk a little as we licked our fingers and drank sweet tea. He was eating, but at the same time was helping anyone that came in also get them a plate. He could get along with everybody it seemed. His co-workers and all the truck drivers will miss him. I am still in shock to hear of this tradegy. I wish I could have gottten to know him better.     Tony, you will be greatly missed. What a witness for the Lord you were. You were an example of a true Christian. You lived it daily. I remember Bible School up at Cherokee several years ago and you went to every camper in the camp ground to try and get kids to come to Bible School. My thoughts and prayers go out to your loving family. I know you are resting in the arms of Jesus. This candle will burn in remembrance of you.
