Memorial Gifts & Donations

Arild Mikko Funderud, formerly of Williamsburg, fell asleep on Thursday, October 1, 2009 and is awaiting the Return of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Arild was born in Norway in 1958. He was a member of the Norseman’s Federation and was a contractor for Ryson International. He loved working with his hands and was especially artistic with wrought iron. Arild always had a smile and a kind word for everyone he met and never hesitated to share God’s Word.

Arild is survived by his wife of 21 years, Judith Funderud, daughter Anett and son Phillip; brothers Matti and Kai Funderud and sisters Marit Olson and Laila Funderud all of Norway.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sanni Irene and Odd Henry Funderud and by his brother Oivind.

He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched and we look forward to the Hope when we shall see him again.

All friends are welcome at a memorial service to be held Sunday, October 25, at 11 a.m. at the Ford’s Colony Swim and Tennis Club, 302 St. Andrew’s Drive, Williamsburg, VA.

Dear Judy, Arild counseled us both several times and helped us keep our minds on God when we were hurting. He made us laugh so many times! We love you and will see you soon. Our prayers are with you. May God strengthen your spirit.

    Myrna Brinkley says:
You know how I feel and that my unceasing prayers are with you. One of my favorite memories of Arild and you is that romantic Valentine's dinner you had at your house. Arild was always so happy to dance with you and enjoy music with all of us. Can't wait to party with him again after the Return. I will always love all of you.
