Arlene Dail Male, age 68 of Wilmington passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021.

Arlene was born in Kinston, NC on May 11, 1952 to Willie Sherman Dail and Betty Shelley Stallings Dail.

Arlene was a wonderful Pastor’s wife at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Wilmington. She served as the Children’s Church Leader, she truly loved and cared for every child that she was able to teach and instruct. She had a true love for the Lord and served on many mission trips including, trips to Jamacia, Africa, and Arizona to name a few locations to help spread the love of Jesus to many.

Her career highlights included Banking, Mortgage Banking, Dental Assistant, and Property Management. She was a member of the Sun Coast Cruisers Car Club and served as the Treasurer for the last 4 years. She enjoyed all Crafts, Photography, and was a talented Calligrapher.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Rev. Dr. Thomas C. Male; son, Tommy Male and daughter and son in-law Tammy Lisa Jacobs and Jake Jacobs; she was “Nana” to her 2 grandchildren, Thomas Ray Male and Calley Male. Four sisters, Betty Francis (Marshall), Donna Wedemeyer (Ray), Faye Wilcox, and Laura Grimsley; and one brother Simon King; many nieces and nephews; and special friend Susan Littleton.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6 to 8 pm, Friday, 1/29/21 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Saturday, 1/30/21 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Oleander Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Oak Grove Baptist Church or contribute to the Trust Fund for her grandchildren.
