Awilda Mae Locke, age 85 of Wilmington passed away Monday June 25, 2018 at her home.

She was born on January 28, 1933 in Wilmington, NC. Her parents were Roy Gould and Hazel Garner Gould.

Willie grew up in Wilmington and graduated from New Hanover High School and was a graduate of James Walker Hospital Nursing School. She and her husband lived in Waterloo, Iowa until their retirement and then moved back to her beloved Wilmington where she was active in her church, St. Andrews on the Sound Episcopal Church and her community.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years,  Frederick Charles Locke; two sons, Frederick Charles Locke, II and David Ray Locke.

A memorial service will be held 11 am Friday July 6, 2018 at St. Andrews on the Sound Episcopal Church Cemetery.
