Memorial Gifts & Donations

Barbara Jean “Flom” Williams was a true gift from God to her family and friends. Barbie possessed a lot of spunk, a beautiful smile and a heart of gold. She would give anything or help anyone that was in need.

Barbie was born in Minot, ND on May 20, 1950 to Ardice Beryl “Heere” Flom and Duane Stanley Flom. She was the 4th girl in a family of six children.

Barbie moved to Wilmington, NC to live with her sister Sandy. She went to be with the Lord on February 8th, 2017 at her sister’s home. She was lovingly surrounded by family, Pastor Rachel Connally, friends and the hospice care nurses. She was blessed to be in the care of Lower Cape Fear Hospice her last days. While in Wilmington she attended Lifepoint Church when she was able and had a great love for the church.

Barbie lived most of her life in Minot but also lived in Seattle, WA; Cocoa Beach, FL; Dallas, TX, and Boulder CO…many of those places with her dear friend, Michael Kennedy.
During the years she was front desk manager at the Minot Holiday Inn, worked for the credit bureau, a chiropractor and for the last 16 years was employed by Voya in Minot.

Barbie enjoyed spending time with her huge extended family and also spending time at the various lakes around the area, especially Lake Metigoshe at her sister Pam’s. Although she had no children of her own she considered all of her nieces and nephews her children. She loved playing Bingo with her brother Jerry and all of her many Bingo friends.
Barbie is survived by her sisters Sandra “Flom” Collette, married to Vince Collette and Pamela “Flom” Wold, married to Keith Wold, brothers Gerald Flom and Dennis Flom, married to Melissa Flom. Numerous aunts and uncles on the Flom side and the Heere side. Many nieces and nephews all who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, her sister Paula “Flom” Stenvold, her brother Robert “Flom” Gruenberg and brother in law Jim Stenvold. Also her Heere grandparents and her Flom grandparents and some of her beloved Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held sometime this summer.
