Barbara Morris, age 81 of Leland, NC, gained her heavenly wings on October 12, 2023.

Barbara was born May 28, 1942, to the late Milton Dobbins, Sr. & Lois Darby Dobbins. She was preceded in death by her sister Betty Capps.

After graduating from New Hanover High School, she went to work at Block Industries for many years before becoming an Insurance Agent at Protective Insurance Agency until retirement.

Never one to remain idle, she began to volunteer at the Senior Center in Leland, NC serving meals to those that came into the center as well as packing meals for their Meals-On-Wheels program. Even when the center was closed due to Covid, she continued to come in daily to pack the meals for the homebound. In 2022, she received the Governor’s Volunteer of the Year award.

She was a member of Port City Community Church in Leland, NC where she was also in a small group that helped Angel Tree Ministries provide assistance to families during Christmas and Easter.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Dana Barnhardt (Charles), most beloved granddaughter Mattea Barnhardt, sister Shirley Moore, brother Milton Dobbins, Jr. (Sylvia), along with several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
