Barnie Lee Von Cannon, Jr. passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.
Barnie was born December 29, 1948 in Wilmington, NC and was the son of Barnie Lee and Flora Peterson Von Cannnon, Sr.
After graduating New Hanover High School, Barnie began a career in industrial maintenance where he met his wife Linda, of 42 years.
As a young man, Barnie enjoyed racing dirt track, Carolina Tarheels basketball, bowling and golf. Barnie and Linda enjoyed many years of traveling, often to Myrtle Beach and the mountains as well as many concerts and theme parks. Barnie was a Christian who loved to worship at his church with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Ward Von Cannon, his sister Judy Kirk, cousin Clayton ( Rod ) Parker and his beloved cat Andy.
Visitation will be Monday, May 21, 2018 from 5-7pm at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, May 22, 2018 1:00pm at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
