Bernard “Jack” Gordon, 74, died at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice LifeCareCenter on January 1, 2010.

Born September 22, 1935 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, one of 13 children of Harvey Glenn and Mary Ellen Morris Gordon. Preceded in death by his parents, five siblings and his best friend John Pimenidis who recently passed December 23rd.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jenice Ann Gordon and beloved son Jonathan of Wilmington, and 7 brothers and sisters in Pennsylvania. His sister-in-law, Mary Lou Kueffer and husband, Roger were also by his side and assisted in his care through a long illness.

Jack and his wife retired to Wilmington in 1998 after a varied career in banking, real estate and his own business in Prince Georges and Calvert Counties, Maryland.

Jack loved his family, many friends and neighbors and was known in the community for his positive attitude and his get things done approach.

Woodworking and gardening were his passion. His handmade birdhouses displayed his love of nature and all living things. Jack stories will be remembered by his family and friends for years to come.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 16th at the Wrightsboro Baptist Church at 2736 Castle Hayne Road.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.

The family expresses their appreciation for the outpouring of support for Jack over the last several months that allowed him to go to God with dignity and peace.

    To the Gordon Family Jack was an amazing person and he will be missed greatly.I know the saddness you feel for I have been there too. But try to remember the good times and all the laughs and let his memory live on through you.
