Bette Joan Werling

Bette Joan Andrews Werling, age 92 of Wilmington passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Cambridge Village.
Bette was the widow of Robert Francis Werling (together for 66 years), who passed away April 19, 2016.

She was born in Galion, OH on July 8, 1928 to Paul Revere Andrews and Beulah P. (Fox) Andrews. Growing up in Galion she worked at the family dairy and began playing piano at an early age. In her adult life, she spent much of her time volunteering at local hospitals. She had an exquisite eye toward interior decorating and often used this talent decorating hospital show cases. She enjoyed gardening and continued to play the piano until the end.

Bette is survived her son David Werling and wife Jean of Wilmington; grandchildren, Andrew Werling of Denver, CO and Kristen Haag and husband Michael of Holly Springs, NC and 2 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Francis Werling, daughter Susan Jane Werling, brother William A. “Bill” Andrews and sister Evelyn “Jane” Gill.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 15th at 10 a.m. at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 1011 Eastwood Road in Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to The ALS Association., www.als.org/donate.
