Bettie Marie Bryla, age 86 of Holly Ridge, NC passed away Friday, February 7, 2014.

She was born in Duplin County, NC on May 3, 1927. She was preceded in death by her father and mother Jessie Walton Fussell and Margaret Mary Cooper Fussell, and by her husband Kazimeriz Wladyslaw Bryla.

Bettie lived in Holly Ridge for the past 30 years, and was a retired Nursing Assistant. She was a loving mother and will be missed by family and friends.

She is survived by son, Charles Bryla and daughter-in-law Emmie Bryla of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; and other children Judy, Marta Ann, and James.

A memorial service will be held 4 PM Monday, February 10, 2014 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

    dearest aunt bettie,  Rest in peace knowing you will be missed so very much by all the people who were so lucky to know the true funny you.  I am thankful for the good times and great conversations we had, and it's going to take some time to get used to not being able to just pick up that phone and call .  You were  one of kind, and I always appreciated your honesty. My memories of Mrs Bettie was fond times of her telling all her stories of growing up with family and friends here and from the places she has lived. She always kept us in stitches with everything she did and lived through. She was a special lady and meant a lot to all of us who knew her, Mrs Bettie is at peace now and is resting looking down on all of us to make sure we behave. She was a wonderful loving person to know, I will miss her greatly.     Mrs. Bettie will always hold a special place in my heart. Every day I wear a silver band she gave me when I once lost my wedding band. She was one of the most thoughtful and compassionate people I know. She will be greatly missed, and she deserves the deep peace that surrounds her know. Sincere condolences to her family.
