Bettie Piner Burket

Bettie Piner Burket 72 widow of James Leroy Burket died peacefully Thursday August 9, 2007 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center with her family at her side.

Mrs Burket was born in Wilmington July 15, 1935 the daughter of the late Rexford Oxford Piner and Bessie Yopp West. She was a member of the Windemere Presbyterian Church. Pre-deceased her in death were a daughter Kimberly Jo Ramsey and brother Eugene Piner.

Surviving are sons Jeff and Michael Blackmon of Wilmington; daughters Sharon Wallace of Wilmington and Melanie Black of Hickory, NC. Seven Grandchilbren; Four Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 Monday August 13, 2007 at the Mausoleum Chapel of Oleander Memorial Gardens, the Reverend Gary E. Laverdure will conduct the service. The family will see friends following the service.

The family request memorials be directed to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice in lieu of flowers 2222 S 17th Street Wilmington, NC 28401.
