Betty C. Wilson, died August 30, 2008 at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove surrounded by her loving family and close friends.

She was born August 10, 1930 in Castle Hayne, NC daughter of the late John Paul Jones Allender and Mary Costin Allender. Betty graduated in the class of 1948 from New Hanover High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Wilson, daughter Susan Edwards and son Danny Wilson.

Betty is survived by 2 sons J. Patrick and David R. Wilson both of Virginia Beach, VA, son in law Robert and wife Nancy Edwards of Anchorage, Alaska, sister Pauline and husband Donald Waldoch of Monroe, NC and their children, many cherished grand and great grandchildren and family members.

The family would like to thank New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Autumn Care for their outstanding care over the past 7 months, along with all Betty’s special friends and family for their compassion and support.

A celebration of her life will be held at Winter Park Presbyterian Church on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 1:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Memorial Fund of Winter Park Presbyterian Church, 4501 Wrightsville Avenue, Wilmington, NC 28403.
