Memorial Gifts & Donations

Betty White Perry, 79, fondly known as “Betty,” gracefully bid adieu to this world on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Born on March 20, 1944, in Martinsville, VA, Betty embraced life with a spirit that could brighten the gloomiest of days. She was a force to be reckoned with, and her departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her.

At the age of 79, Betty’s journey came to a peaceful end in Burgaw, NC, due to natural causes. While her time with us may have been limited, her impact was immeasurable. Betty’s vivacity and zest for life were unmatched, as was her ability to find humor in even the most mundane of situations.

Betty’s warm heart and infectious laughter touched the lives of many. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Vergil Lester White and Bessie Bullin White, as well as her son, Dickie Corum, and daughter, Lori Rector. In addition, she joins her brothers Frank White, Bill White, and Tom White; sisters Dorothy, Pauline and Annie in eternal rest.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Danny Corum, daughter, Tammy Corum, along with her loving son-in-law, Randy Martin. Betty’s legacy will continue through her adoring grandchildren: Travis, Tiffany, Krystal, JonJon and Angel. Great-grandchildren Tyler and Lorianna . Their lives were forever enriched by her presence, and they will carry her spirit within them always.

A celebration of Betty’s remarkable life will be held at a later date, as we come together to honor her memory and share our stories of joy and laughter. Until then, let us remember her as the witty, vibrant soul who brightened our lives with her unwavering spirit.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Betty’s honor. She would want nothing more than for her departure to inspire acts of kindness and compassion, just as she did during her time with us.

Betty White Perry may have left this world, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her. May her laughter echo through our memories and remind us to live life to the fullest, just as she did.

Danny & Tammy and family, We are so saddened to hear of your Mother's passing. She was such a sweet lady . She will always be loved and missed by everyone who knew her. I'll always remember the good times spent with her. One that comes to mind is going to her house and having her famous brunswick stew. She always had a smile for everyone.
