Betty Louise Malpass Shaw, age 60 passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021.

She was born in Wilmington on February 18, 1960, to the late Archie Malpass, Sr. and Helen Louise Dukes Malpass.

Betty grew up in Wilmington and was a graduate of E.A. Laney High School. She was a  member of Pine View Church in the Flemington Community. She was a loving and special mother, sister, and aunt. She loved all of her family, especially her six nieces. She loved baking, crafts, flowers, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a resident at Yatties Independent Living in Chadbourn, NC, and loved her fellow residents and staff who were like family to her. Special thanks to all of the staff and residents who treated her like family.

Betty is survived by her son, Archie Travis Shaw; sister, Linda L. Malpass; brother, Archie “Buddy” Malpass and wife Martha; special nieces, Jennifer Osborne, Cynthia Rose, Cindy Simmons, Sheila Castriota, Amanda Buff, and Ashley Agin. and many great-nieces and nephews, and friends.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 2 pm Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Due to Covid 19 masks are required and social distancing observed.
