Betty Sellers O’Steen, age 87 of Burgaw, NC, sadly passed away on the 16th of June, 2022.

Betty was born in Wilmington, NC on December 24, 1934 to the late Albert Blackmon and Josephine Shepard.

Betty loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She lived on Oak Island and thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the beach. You could also find her at UNCW basketball games or cooking for those she loved. Betty was very loved and will be missed by all that knew her.

Betty is survived by her children, Desi O’Steen, Steve O’Steen (Debbie), Keith O’Steen (Christina), and Cheryl Mason (Steve), her grandchildren Nick, Steven, Christopher, Erika, Isabella, Roman, Jojo, Riley, Angelina McGuire, and Mateo, and 3 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by both her parents, as well as her husband William “Bill” Desmond O’Steen, her brother Albert Sellers, sister Catherine Lynch, and her daughter in law Mary O’Steen.

There will be a Memorial Service for Betty on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 11:00am at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation – Wilmington Chapel. All are welcome to attend.

    We were so sorry to hear of Aunt Betty's passing.  We have such great memories of our summer vacations in North Carolina.  Aunt Betty and Uncle Bill were such a big part of the fun.  I am comforted in imagining the reunion they all must have had.
