Bill was born in Mamaroneck N.Y. on October 28, 1947 to the late Marshall Hill and Jeanne Stewart Campbell Spader. He grew up in Ridgefield CT and later came to Wilmington N.C. to enjoy the boating. He left us peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2022 after a brief illness.
Bill attended Ridgefield High School and Lee Academy in Massachusetts.
He is survived by three brothers, Jonathan Spader ond wife Gail of Hollister NC, Marshall Spader and wife Jacquie of Wilmington, NC, Robert Spader and wife Gwen of Nakina NC, four nieces: Nicole, Kelley, Shannon, Mariah and a nephew James.
Bill had been a successful airplane salesman for Barta and associates in Westchester County, then after his move to Wilmington, N.C. he focused on boat sales. His love of planes and boats stayed with him through his entire life. He enjoyed the waterways of the coast, fishing and finding the small coves. He would often head to the airport with his scanner and listen to the communications as planes arrived. He could always identify planes when just a speck in the sky.
The family would like to extend so much appreciation to Novant, New Hanover Regional and Lower Cape Fear Hospice. They were so caring and treated Bill with such love. His final days were so much easier because of them.
