The Lord came down and took another angel, Bobby Ray Benton, Jr., 45, of Wilmington, home on January 4, 2009 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill, after a long illness.

This angel leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Terisa; daughter, Belinda Benton; his step-son, William Atkinson; his mother, Gail Moore; brother, Kevin Benton; father, Bobby Benton, Sr., and wife Bonnie; an aunt, Elaine Lewis; uncles, Jimmy, Benny, and Billy Benton and their families; many cousins and a multitude of friends. He never knew a stranger.

He enjoyed singing, fishing, hunting and playing pool. He played high school football at Pender Academy. He also coached T-ball and youth football for his church. Bobby was an avid sportsman and “gadget man”. Some of his most cherished moments were spent in the woods. He will always be loved and remembered by those he touched with his warm eyes, kind heart, and gentle smile. He will be missed by so many but he is with Jesus and many special family members.

Father Mark Johnson will officiate the service at St. Peter’s Church 3:00 P.M Friday January 9, 2009. Friends and family are welcomed following the service at 2259-A Carolina Beach Road.
