Gifts & Memorial Donations

On April 15, 2023, Breanna Hairston, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away at the young age of 33. Breanna was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to biological mother Gail Hairston.  Breanna was adopted by parents Milbert and Deborah Simpson at age 3.

BB or Bre, as everyone called her, later moved with her parents to Wilmington, North Carolina as a teen. Breanna graduated high at Ashley High School. Bre had a  passion for basketball, and played point guard/shooting guard with the Ashley Eagles. This passion followed her throughout her life because she was always ready to pick up a quick game and shoot some hoops with family, friends, and especially her nephews. After graduating, Bre moved to Tampa, Florida with her brother and family. This is where Breanna met Danny and had their son, Xavier, whom she loved deeply and showed him off every chance she could. Life eventually took her back to Wilmington, but she was always working hard towards the goal of returning to Tampa.

Breanna was known for her infectious smile and big soulful eyes.  You could have sworn Bre had “been here before”. Breanna’s beauty, silly nature, love of all types of music and compassion for helping others is how she amassed many friendships. Breanna leaves behind a strong family that vow to carry on her memory and ensure she is remembered for the person she really was.

Breanna is survived by her son Xavier Lynch; his father Daniel Lynch; parents Deborah and  Milbert Simpson; biological mother Gail; sisters Rayshell and Amber Trawick and husband Paul;; brothers Jimmy, Troy and Brian; nephews Jaycen, Atreyu, and Zayne; nieces Jasmyn, Jordyn, and Rheya; and many other family and friends.

A celebration of Breanna’s Life will be held from 2-4 on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A repass will follow at the neighborhood community clubhouse.
