Brenda Kay Malpass, age 53 of Wilmington went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 22, 2014.

She was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on November 27, 1960.

Brenda was an active member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, where she served faithfully for many years in the children’s ministry. She worked for CVS Pharmacy for 30 years in different management positions, most recently at the store at Masonboro Commons. Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family, especially playing  tennis with her sisters.

She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years Grady Malpass; one loving son, Bryan Malpass; her mother, Linda Parker; sisters, Cookie Mincy, Peggy Hewett and  Cindy Merritt; step sister, Ophelia Cavender; and many nieces and nephews. Remembered is her father Ray Parker who preceded her in death.

The family will see friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday, April 25, 2014 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

Celebration of Life ceremony will be held 11 am Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 2730 Northchase Parkway SE, Wilmington, NC 28405. Burial will follow.
