Memorial Gifts & Donations

Buddy J. Leonardi, 43, passed away with his wife Amanda by his side August 12, 2021, after a hard fought battle with COVID, which led to a stroke.

Buddy was preceded in death by his mother Joann M. (Horkey) Leonardi. He is survived by his wife Amanda Leonardi, his two beautiful daughters, Isabella and Gabriella, his parents Fred and Jan Leonardi, siblings Billie (Eric) Waide, Fred (Jackie) Leonardi Jr., Donald (Angie) Alderson, Jennifer (Michael) Royer, Megan (Ryan) Moser, and Tiana (Greg) Longoria, and their wonderful families. He is also survived by many lifelong friends and family that he loved with everything he had.

Buddy was born September 24, 1977, in Erie, PA. He grew up in Edinboro, PA, playing baseball and football, and spending time with good friends. In the Marine Corps, Buddy served as a Correctional Specialist and strengthened his sense of discipline and hard work. After spending years in landscaping, groundskeeping, and tree service, he hit his stride when he started working as a project manager building homes. He was highly regarded by those he worked with in his most recent position with Mungo Homes.

Buddy lived his life to the fullest. He worked hard, played hard, and loved hard. He loved spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, traveling, and watching football. He wasn’t afraid to speak the truth or share his opinion, and could be very stubborn in standing his ground, but he was also incredibly big-hearted and caring, with a great sense of humor and love of laughter. Buddy was loved by all who knew him, whether they wanted to like him or not. He was an amazingly tenacious hard worker who provided for his family no matter what he had to do. The hole that has been left in the hearts of his loved ones will never be filled.

The Celebration of Life ceremony will be 10:30 AM Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Northern Regional Park in Castle Hayne with family friend Tim Batson officiating.

    Jason Barton says:
Buddy was a great football teammate who made me feel better just seeing him in the huddle and he was one of the only juniors to be out there starting with us seniors! I always felt like I could trust him on and off the field. I had not seen Buddy in years but he was always very kind and respectful to me and everyone else. He will not be forgotten anytime soon! RIP Buddy.
