Burnice Ray “Bernie” Flowers, 77, of Wilmington, NC, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012 at his home.

He was born in Brunswick Co. on July 16, 1935, the son of the late James F. and Emma A. Costin Flowers. Mr. Flowers retired at the age of 62 from the Charlotte Liberty Life Insurance Company.

Surviving is his wife, Edith H. Flowers of the home; daughter, Ede Flowers of Wilmington, NC; two sons, Jeff Flowers, and wife, Cindy of Hampstead, NC and Ray Flowers of Wilmington, NC; step-granddaughter, April.

The family will receive friends Wednesday September 26, 2012 from 6:00 -7:00 pm at Wilmington Funeral Chapel with a memorial service beginning at 7:00 pm. Officiating will be Rev. Robert E. Lee.
