Burwell Joseph Manor, 69 of Wilmington passed away early in the morning hours of Independence Day, 2008.

He was born on June 24, 1939 in Brunswick, Georgia to Burwell Thomas Manor and Ida Hope Manor, both deceased. Joe was a retired electrician, a 32nd Degree Mason affiliated with Lodge 319 AM and FM and a 42 year member of Local 495 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He served his country honorably in the Air Force in post war Korea and was a faithful member of the Democratic Party. Joe was an accomplished cook, an avid waterman and outdoorsman who was lovingly referred to by his friends as “the world’s most dangerous fisherman”. He loved to hunt with the Chesapeake Bay Retrievers he bred.

Craig Manor of Wilmington, Burwell Joseph Manor, Jr. “Joey” and wife Joan Manor of Wilmington, daughter Felicia Dawn Manor Buck of Wilmington, grandchildren Thomas Craig Manor, Jr., Joseph Earl Manor, Toccara Diana Manor and James Riley Buck of Greenville, NC. He also has a sister Susan Hope Manor Green of Tallahassee, FL who will miss him greatly and his faithful, if somewhat dimwitted dog Bullwinkle.

Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 12, 2008 at First Advent Christian Church, 1625 S College Road, Wilmington, NC.
