Byron Lee Kelley

On Saturday March 18, 2023, Byron Lee Kelley of Hampstead, NC passed away peacefully and went to his eternal home at the age of 82.

Byron was born to Harold and Marie Kelley September 28, 1940 in Dayton Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army. He lived the majority of his life in Dayton Ohio. He worked various sales jobs traveling many states, then went on the spend over 25 years in the automobile business both selling cars and as a manager. He was a avid golfer and spent many days at Community Golf Course in Dayton Ohio. Upon retirement, he moved with his family to Hampstead NC to be near the beach. He loved walking the beach and spending time with family and his five grandchildren.
Byron is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Marie Kelley and his sister Marsha Wright.

He is survived by his brother David Kelley, his wife of 56 years Georgia Kelley, his daughter Heather (James) Lankford, son Luke Kelley. Five grandchildren, Tyler (Melissa)Kelley, Adam (Kari)Lankford, Megan Lankford, Brenna Lankford and Lauren Lankford.

The family will see friends from 11:30 – 12:30 at Topsail Baptist Church on Friday March 24, 2024 with a celebration of life service at 12:30. A reception will follow the service.

His cremains will be placed at the State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville with military honors.

The family would like memorials be directed to Topsail Baptist Church.
