Carol Kelley, 55, of Oak Island, NC passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Carol was born January 25, 1954 in Gaston County, NC the daughter of Betty D. and Cecil S. Wise who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children Joseph Hester, 39, Eric Kelley, 32 and Allison Murray, 29, granddaughter Sarah Wooten, 13 of Dallas, NC.

Family and friends are welcome at a memorial service 7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the home of Eric Kelley.

    Oh, my memories of the wise family go back to the early 70's in Dallas, NC. When Bill Ferguson trusted Carol to be the one that I should call or go too if something went wrong with our daughter, Shawna, I knew then that Carol was a very special person. I know that Bill thought the world of her and her family. She will be missed greatly. I am very sorry for your loss. Pat

    Mom was a wonderful woman who did not deserve the sickness that she faced for the last ten years. She was determined to beat the illnesses and kept up the fight for a long while. She will be missed greatly! I Love You Mom.

    My heart goes out to the whole family. I remember when Carol and I used to get together quite often and play at mama shorty's house. We had so much fun there and of course she played right along with us. She is in a much better place but I know she will be missed. I am glad she is going home to see her mom, dad, my mom and dad, my sister Lori, and all of our other relatives that have passed. What a great reunion that will be. Love you all, Ellen
