Carolyn Deloris Bowen, age 73, of Wilmington, left our worldy arms and went to be with the Lord Jesus on Thursday, October 17, 2013.
She was born on July 15, 1940 in Wilmington to the late Eugene and Ruby Bowen.

She retired from DuPont, after 30 years of service in the DMT lab.
Carolyn volunteered for Meals on Wheels for the Senior Center and she always participated in charitable contributions or many organizations.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by a brother, JL Bowen.

Surviving are her daughters, Natalie “Joy” Hopper and husband Gary “Hoppie”, Deloris “Jay” Stanley, Joanna Evans and husband Terry, and Trina Sammons; a brother, Gaither Deitz and wife Sheila; sisters, Joyce Collins, Jean Whitman and husband Howard, and Senie Blume and husband Carl; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins, whom she loved dearly.

A friends and family Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2013 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.

The family of Carolyn Bowen would like to send appreciation to the folks at hospice ie; Dr. Winneberger, the nurses and nurse’s assistants for their dedication and kindness for the duration of her stay at hospice.
