Carolyn Strickland Floyd, age 65 of Wilmington went home to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 5, 2015.

Carolyn was born on January 30, 1950 in Mullins, SC, to Blease and Pauline Strickland.

Carolyn was a true and faithful Christian wife, mother and friend to many. She was a professional hairstylist working out of her home and was loved by her many customers. Carolyn was a strong support to her husband and her children in their ministries. She was a member of Gibson Avenue Baptist Church.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Rev. Tex Floyd; daughter, Angel Kling and husband Rusty; son, Byron Floyd and wife Lori; granddaughter Paige Floyd; sisters, Margaret Summersett (James), Alice Lupo (Ray), and Debbie Bullard (Larry); brother, Vester Strickland (Carol); as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be 1 to 3 pm Monday, March 9, 2015 at Freedom Baptist Church, 802 N. College Rd., Wilmington, NC 28405 with the Celebration of Life ceremony at 3 pm officiated by Rev. Dodd Mays.

Memorial gifts may be made to Gibson Avenue Baptist Church, 2037 Wrightsville Ave., Wilmington, NC 28403.

    My condolences goes out to all of you for the loss of your Mother and Wife. I was so blessed to have met her and seen how fortunate you all were to have her. She was a very beautiful and sweet lady. I know she will be missed dearly by many. God give this family peace and strength as they go through the next couple of days.
