Sue Carolyn Lanier, 71, of Currie NC died Sunday February 10, 2008 at the Pender Memorial Hospital.

Sue was born in Columbus County the daughter of the late Samuel E. Smith and Sue Rebecca Nelson Smith. She is also predeceased by brothers Nelson Smith; Bill Smith; Raymond Smith and Herbie Smith. She was a retired employee of Del Laboratory in Burgaw.

Surviving are Husband Bennie Lanier; Daughters and their Husbands Connie and Carlos Guijarro of Wilmington; Pam and Ronnie Batson of Currie; Son and his wife Kevin and Tina Potter of Wilmington. Sisters Frances Caldwell and Judy Hufham of Wilmington; Brothers S.E Smith of Wilmington; Charles Lawson Smith of Holden Beach; Jerry Smith of Cerro Gordo; and Dawson Smith. Nine grandchildren; Nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 6:00 P.M Thursday February 14, 2008 at the Faith Baptist Church, 405 Shipyard Blvd. The Rev. Frank Hackworth and Dr. Charles L. Smith will officiate.
