    Willa Shaffer says:
My memories are mostly from the 70s, when we all lived in the same neighborhood, and 80s-90s-00s visits after I'd moved away. Though he preferred having just his family around him, Chuck tolerated my close friendship with Sherry with good humor and hospitality. I still remember seeing him returning from work each day on his motorcycle, and the devotion with which he tended to his home. He seemed to love being outside, and spent his time constructively. Chuck was gruff and outspoken and funny and a good man I admired, particularly his devotion to his family. I know his absence will be deeply felt forever. God bless his family.
