Charles Houston Goudiss III, 67, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, March, 21, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. Goudiss was born in New York, NY, to the late Charles Houston Goudiss, Jr. and Laverta McCormick Goudiss. A graduate of University of Pennsylvania, Charles had an illustrious career working in a variety of fields, including volunteering with the Peace Corps, being a book salesman for Crown Publishing and in the home improvement industry. After moving to Ulster County, New York, he designed and built an award winning passive solar house. He worked as a Loan Officer for Mortgage Select and served on the Board of Trustees of the Kingston Area Library for several years. He moved to Wilmington in 2006 and, most recently, served as treasurer of Sister Cities Association of Wilmington. Among his many loves were his family, body surfing, reading, and the Grateful Dead.

Survivors include his wife, Maria D’Elia Goudiss; his son, Charles Keegan Goudiss, and wife, Jessica, of Silver Spring, MD; two grandchildren, George and Margaret Goudiss; and one sister, Joan Zimmermann, of New York, NY.

There will be a Celebration of Life, 4-6 PM, Wednesday, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.
